Best free book ever on Amazon

I have found answers to questions about German grammar more easily than from many other expensive guides. Gives you just enough information to understand the common forms and structure without over complicating the things you wont need to know until you are a very advanced student.
Lays it out in a straightforward manner. I could have saved myself 40 bucks worth of grammar study books, if I had gotten this one first.

I want to add, that this book will be most helpful to those who are not complete beginners in German, unless they have an excellent education in English grammar and structure first. Since actually teaching english grammar stopped in most American schools about twenty five years ago, this book may be confusing unless you first refresh your understanding of English grammar.
If you are studying through Duolingo, this book will help you identify errors in the program, and explain some things that both Duolingo, and Rosetta Stone expect you to learn through trial and error.

Good for intermediates!

I'm really enjoying this book, however I wouldn't recommend it to a complete beginner. I have a couple years of previous German instruction and this book really clarifies a lot of topics that were a bit cloudy for me at first. Each lesson is short but well explained. German can be confusing so I really like this aspect of the book. It explains the more difficult concepts simply, such as all the cases. You can't beat the price either!

Very Solid Basics

Very basic knowledge in this book is presented in the most adequate manner: simple, authoritative, enriched with most common useful tips. Comprises most areas of industrial mechanics' real life. Any mechanical shop could benefit having one copy of this book. Very valuable for novices and very useful even for experienced craftsmen - one allways need to recall either some safety procedure or basic working rules for area in which was not working for a while.

About the Author
Melvin Yazawa is Professor of History at the University of New Mexico, where he has taught since 1984. He has been the recipient of a Presidential Lectureship, the Snead-Wertheim Lectureship, a Faculty Recognition Award, and the Graduate Students' Teaching Award. A specialist on the American Revolution and the early Republic, he has written Representative Government and the Revolution: The Maryland Constitutional Crisis of 1789 (1975); From Colonies to Commonwealth: Familial Ideology and the Beginnings of the American Republic (1985); The Diary and Life of Samuel Sewall (1998); and numerous journal articles and book chapters.� He is currently working on a book on the politics of union and disunion in America, 1776-1815.�Kevin J. Fernlund is Professor of History and Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, the Executive Director of the Western History Association, and a Fulbright Scholar.� He is the author of the biographies Lyndon B. Johnson and Modern America (2009) and William Henry Holmes and the Rediscovery of the American West (2000), as well as editor of The Cold War American West, 1945 to 1989 (1998).� His research and teaching interests include the American West and Big History. Fernlund has edited the fifth, sixth, and seventh editions of Bedford/St. Martin's Selected Historical Documents to Accompany America's History, Volume 2: Since 1865.

Great book for studying U.S. History from the source!

I was required to get this book for my U.S. History course this year, but I find myself actually sitting down to read it for fun too! (Yes, I'm one of "those" history nerds.) It's informative and has wonderful articles by people who were important during their time (and are still important now in most cases). Everyone should be required to read this book for school!

Awesome Needlessness

Its a cool book that I have little to no time to read for my class. Since it comes as apart of a trio package, I have reading assignments from all three books; I find I read this one the least. However, it is a great collection of primary sources for papers and essays.
